From the first moment in the morning to the last thing after the reception, the wedding day is full of wedding traditions we have all grown to love. The groom waits while his bride-to-be walks towards him with her father as he prepares to give her away in an ancient ceremony which culminates in the couple exchanging rings in a final gesture of trust and union. I can guarantee these thoughts are going through your mind if you are preparing for your big day and remember how you felt at the last wedding you attended. It can all rush up on you so quickly and you often forget that there is so much to do before, during and after the ceremony.
The bachelor party is where the men get a chance to arrange some treats for the groom who is generally worried about what might happen to him. Some people don’t think the bachelor party is a wedding tradition in the truest sense but I think it is fair to say that it is a modern tradition that most people do not want to lose. Of the few bachelor parties I have been fortunate enough to attend it was my best buddy’s that was the most enjoyable although it was some time ago now. Although many bachelor parties are becoming as well organized as the wedding itself, most are still pretty much the same, guys , booze and some dancers if they’re lucky. Most of this celebration is about friendship and letting go of the single lifestyle and notice that I didn’t say it’s about getting buck wild with the dancers. Of course girls have their versions of this as well where they lounge about sipping tea and nibbling on crumpets, well that’s what they tell us there doing, well at least this is what I’ve heard.
Married couples everywhere always look forward to the honeymoon wedding tradition. Anyone who has arranged a wedding knows how stressful it can be especially on the couple getting married so the honeymoon is like a payback and they get time to spend uninterrupted on each other. In my opinion, this is what most of the money should go toward and even though other wedding traditions are imperative, this is the most fun and personal. The tradition is that the bride and groom have some quality time and doing things together in an atmosphere far removed from the wedding day. From my own experience it is well worth spending more time planning the honeymoon as it will go on for longer than the wedding.
